Perinatal care
I am deeply committed to supporting individuals through the profound emotional, psychological and physical changes that can accompany the journey to pregnancy, birth and early parenthood. This is a time of significant transition and while it can be joyful and enriching, it can also bring unexpected challenges that may feel isolating or overwhelming.
Pre and post-natal
My work in this area includes supporting individuals who are navigating a range of complex experiences, including pregnancy loss, recurrent miscarriage, stillbirth or pregnancy after loss. I also work with people who have experienced traumatic births, who have a fear of childbirth (known as tokophobia) or who are struggling to adjust to the demands and identity shifts that often come with becoming a parent.
Fertility Journey
I also offer support to individuals undergoing fertility treatment, including IVF. The emotional toll of fertility struggles and assisted conception can be intense and isolating, often involving cycles of hope and disappointment, anxiety and grief. I provide a compassionate space to explore and process these experiences with care and understanding.
Perinatal distress can affect anyone, regardless of background, previous mental health history or stage of parenthood. It can impact emotional well-being, relationships and a person’s sense of self. My approach is both empathetic and evidence-based. It is grounded in compassion and an understanding of the unique psychological demands of the perinatal period.
